The Battle of Santiago (Spanish: Batalla de Santiago de 1844) was the second major battle of the Dominican War of Independence and was fought on the 30 March 1844, at Santiago de los Caballeros, Santiago Province. Although outnumbered, Dominican troops, part of the Army of The North and led by General José María Imbert, defeated Haitian Army troops led by General Jean-Louis Pierrot.

The Battle of Cieneguilla (pronounced sienna-GEE-ya; English: small swamp) was an engagement of the Jicarilla War involving a group of Jicarilla Apaches, their Ute allies, and the American 1st Cavalry Regiment on March 30, 1854 near what is now Pilar, New Mexico. The Santa Fe Weekly Gazette reported that the action "was one of the severest battles that ever took place between American troops and Red Indians." It was one of the first significant battles between American and Apache forces and was also part of the Ute Wars, in which Ute warriors attempted to resist Westward expansion in the Four Corners region.

Federal elections for the inaugural Parliament of Australia were held in Australia on Friday 29 March and Saturday 30 March 1901 following Federation and the establishment of the Commonwealth of Australia. All 75 seats in the Australian House of Representatives, six of which were uncontested, as well as all 36 seats in the Australian Senate, were up for election. After the initial confusion of the Hopetoun Blunder, the first Prime Minister of Australia, Edmund Barton, went in to the inaugural 1901 federal election as the appointed head of a Protectionist Party caretaker government.

A by-election was held for the Australian House of Representatives seat of Melbourne in Victoria on 30 March 1904. This was triggered by the Chief Justice of the High Court (sitting as a Court of Disputed Elections) declaring invalid the election of Sir Malcolm McEacharn to the seat in the 1903 federal election. The 1907 Copa del Rey final was the 5th final of the Copa del Rey, the Spanish football cup competition. The match took place on 30 March 1907 at the Hipódromo, Madrid. The match was contested by Club Bizcaya and Madrid FC. This match was not a scheduled final: the tournament was a round-robin tournament, but both teams finished with six points, thus forcing a playoff match to decide the champion.

The Battle of Moreuil Wood (30 March 1918) was an engagement of World War I that took place on the banks of the Arve River in France, where the Canadian Cavalry Brigade attacked and forced the German 23rd Saxon Division to withdraw from Moreuil Wood, a commanding position on the river bank. This defeat at the hands of the Allies contributed to the halt of the German Spring Offensive of 1918. During the battle, a Victoria Cross was awarded to Canadian Gordon Flowerdew of Lord Strathcona's Horse.

The Battle of Hucisko was a confrontation between the Detached Unit of the Polish Army led by Major Henryk Dobrzański, codenamed Hubal, and the 51st Battalion of the German Ordnungspolizei, fought on 30 March 1940, near the village of Hucisko in the Kielce Land. The battle lasted for over two hours. Despite the enemy's numerical and technical superiority, the Polish soldiers forced the Germans to retreat and inflicted heavy casualties.

Thirty-six Japanese ships were sunk or damaged in the attacks.

The 1966 South African general election, on 30 March 1966, resulted in another comprehensive victory for the National Party under Hendrik Frensch Verwoerd. The number of House of Assembly seats for White voters in South Africa had been increased from 150 to 160 by the Constitution Amendment Act of 1965. In addition, there were six seats for White voters from South-West Africa (now Namibia). There were also four seats reserved for Coloured representatives, who did not have to stand for re-election during 1966.

Delta Air Lines Flight 9877 was a scheduled training flight of a Douglas DC-8-51 that crashed on approach to New Orleans International Airport in Kenner, Louisiana, on March 30, 1967. The aircraft, registered N802E, struck a residential area while conducting a simulated two-engine-out landing, killing all six people on board—including five crewmembers and a FAA observer. Thirteen people were killed on the ground.

The 1985 United States House of Representatives special election in Louisiana's 8th congressional district was held on March 30, 1985, to select the successor to Congressman Gillis William Long, who died on January 20, 1985 after being re-elected in 1984. The Rey de Reyes 2001 (Spanish for "King of Kings") was the fifth annual Rey de Reyes professional wrestling tournament and show, produced by the Mexican wrestling promotion Asistencia Asesoría y Administración (AAA). The event took place on March 30, 2001 in the Convention Center in Ciudad Madero, Tamaulipas, Mexico. The Rey de Reyes tournament consisted of a semi-final round of four four-man elimination matches and a final match with the winners of each of the semi-finals facing off in an elimination match until only one man remained. The final of the 2001 Rey de Reyes tournament pitted La Parka, Jr., Latin Lover, Abismo Negro and Heavy Metal against each other.

Juicio Final (2001) (Spanish for "Final Justice") was a professional wrestling Pay-Per-View (PPV) show event produced by Consejo Mundial de Lucha Libre (CMLL) that took place on March 30, 2001 in Arena México, Mexico City, Mexico. The show was produced with the tag line, Homenaje a Dos Leyendas: El Santo y Salvador Lutteroth (Spanish for "Homage to Two Legends: El Santo and Salvador Lutteroth") to honor and remember CMLL founder Salvador Lutteroth and El Santo, the most famous Mexican wrestler ever. The following year the March show would be presented only as Homenaje a Dos Leyendas: El Santo y Salvador Lutteroth once again, with CMLL not using the Juicio Final show name until 2005.

Homenaje a Dos Leyendas 2007 (Spanish for "Homage to Two Legends") was a professional wrestling major show event produced by Consejo Mundial de Lucha Libre (CMLL), which took place on March 30, 2007 in Arena Mexico, Mexico City, Mexico. The two legends honored at that year's event was CMLL founder Salvador Lutteroth, who is always honored at Dos Leyendas and Huracan Ramirez. The main event was a singles match between Universo 2000 and Marco Corleone under Lucha de Apuestas rules, with both men putting their hair on the line. The card featured five further matches, four Six-man "Lucha Libre rules" tag team match and one regular Tag team match.

At 07:31 on 30 March 2009, the Manawan Police Academy in Lahore, Pakistan, was attacked by an estimated 12 gunmen. The perpetrators were armed with automatic weapons and grenades or rockets and some were dressed as policemen. They took over the main building during a morning parade when 750 unarmed police recruits were present on the compound's parade ground. Police forces arrived 90 minutes later and were able to take back the building by 15:30. Five trainees, two instructors and a passer-by were killed. Five of the attackers were killed in the fighting and three more blew themselves up to avoid arrest.

The 2017 Comilla City Corporation election was an election in Cumilla, Bangladesh, held on 30 March 2017 to elect the Mayor of Cumilla and councillors of the Cumilla City Corporation. This was the second election of the City Corporation since its establishment. In the election, incumbent BNP candidate Monirul Haque Sakku won by defeating his closest rival, Awami League candidate Anjum Sultana Sima.
